Google Play Store UI changed recently and the procedure to remove the app from the play store has been changed. If you are a developer of an app and want to delete the app from the Play Store listing, Google only lets you unpublish the app from the Play console.
Steps to remove app from play store console
Step 1: Go to https://market.android.com/publish/Home and select your developer account by default users will navigate to the app list of their developer.
Step 1a: After that, select the app you want to Unpublish, In my case, I want to unpublish Alan wallpaper so new users can’t download the app from Play Store.
Step 2: In addition, the Next task is to move to Setup then click on Advanced settings. Under the App Availability tab you can see an option to unpublish the app, click on the radio button. Here the app status will be mentioned. Once done click on Save Changes as shown below.
Step 3: A pop-up window will come asking whether the user wants to really remove the app from the play store. Click on unpublish. However, Doing this will unlist the app from the Playstore and the existing users can use this, but no more people can download your app from Google Play Store. Similarly, click on the confirm button to proceed.
Once it is unpublished you can go to the main menu and see the app status changed to Removed by you.
Note: As mentioned above, developers can only unpublish the app from the Play store, As the existing user already installed apk on their system they will be able to use it even after unpublishing.
